In a “Survivor-like” vote about his disruptive behavior at school, it was a 14 to 2 vote against Alex Barton.  Allegedly, Alex was made to stand in front of his kindergarten class and listen to his classmates at Morningside Elementary School in Florida criticize him.

He was told that he was disgusting, annoying, lies on the floor, eats crayons, and more. He was voted out of his class and didn’t return the next day. He finished the school year through homeschooling.

Alex is diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, a form of autism. In August, 2009, his mother filed a lawsuit against the school, his teacher, principal and others. She is claiming that the school neglected his rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act and caused Alex emotional distress. His teacher was suspended for one year.
